Policy as to Updating and Rebalancing

Prior to December 1, 2000, the GTI was updated and
rebalanced daily.

As the site expanded, that proved too much of a time
commitment, so since then I have been on a weekly
(end of week) cycle.

Starting May 14, 2001, I have added a brief daily update.
It consists of a bar chart showing the daily (and week-
to-date) performance of the GTI, NASDAQ, and S&P.
I try to post it about five minutes after market close.

Computation of Daily Results

These brief daily updates have no effect on the GTI's
regular underlying calculations.  I still do the same full
update and rebalance once a week at the end of the week.

In order to produce the daily results, I create a new portfolio
for each index at the start of each week.  It consists (naturally)
of equal dollar amounts invested in each component stock,
based on closing prices at the end of the preceding week.

All I have to do from that point is take a reading of the daily
change in the value of each of these portfolios, update the
bar chart, and post it to the site.
